Online Studies Technical Requirements
Moody's online studies require you to actively participate in your course work. Online students must be highly motivated and disciplined learners who are willing to work independently as well as in a group.

Computer Experience
Students must have a personal, working email account and be comfortable with sending and receiving email messages. All official Moody communications will be sent through Canvas or to your Moody email address.
Internet
Students must have a working Internet connection and an installed web browser. The latest versions of Microsoft Edge (Microsoft), Safari (Apple), Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox are acceptable. Students should be comfortable navigating the Internet for research.
Word Processor
Most online courses require students to submit papers electronically in Microsoft Word format (.docx). Graded papers will be returned in the same format, often with instructor annotations. Your word processor must be capable of reading and writing Microsoft Word files.
The following programs cannot adequately format papers according to APA, MLA, or Turabian writing styles required at Moody:
- Apache OpenOffice Writer
- Corel WordPerfect
- Zoho Writer
- LibreOffice Writer
- WPS Office Writer
- Apple Pages
Moody students can download Microsoft 365 for free using their Moody credentials, which provides access to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and more.

Cookies
Cookies allow websites to track user actions. A cookie is a small data file stored on your computer when you interact with a website.
- Cookies are read-only by the website that created them. Moody cannot read cookies from other websites, and other websites cannot read Moody's cookies.
- Cookies help remember your preferences and are commonly used for ease of navigation.
- Some Moody courses require cookies to verify student enrollment and prevent unauthorized access, reducing opportunities for cheating.
Cookies must be enabled to participate in online coursework.
Hardware Requirements
Any computer made within the last two years should meet all technical requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Internet Connection: Broadband (DSL or cable recommended; a 56.0 kbps modem will work but will be slow)
- Audio: Sound card and speakers/headphones for audio playback
- Screen Resolution: At least 800 x 600 pixels (Higher resolutions are recommended for better viewing. A resolution of 640 x 480 pixels may cause display issues.)
Internet Access
Students must have access to the Internet through their own Internet service provider, a public hotspot, a local public library, or other means. All coursework will be conducted online, though lesson materials may be printed for offline study.
